Past Programs

BOFFO has organized a variety of programs including experimental conversations, site-specific installations, digital commissions, and exhibitions.

BOFFO Building Fashion celebrates cutting-edge design through a series of temporary retail installations showcasing the work of an architect paired with a fasthohion designer.

The Narcissist Ball is the annual BOFFO Spring Benefit. A self-love affair of epic proportions, The Narcissists Ball brings together our creative community for an evening of splendor.

BOFFO Digital Commissions explores artists who use social media for inventive ends: to disrupt otherwise seamless flows of images, to highlight dissonances of everyday life and its distorted representations, to explore the fraught tendency of digital self-archiving, or to otherwise promote critical politics. Through this commission series, BOFFO aims to support dialogue about the possibilities and potentials of the intersection of art and social media.

BOFFO frequently hosts holiday parties to reconnect with artists and other community members and raise funds for the upcoming residency season.

Over the course of summer 2017, BOFFO invited Fire Island Pines residents and friends to present a series of programs at the Americano Hotel.

BOFFO’s maiden exhibition, Objective Affection, explores the influence of objects in contemporary culture. The exhibition showcases the work of over 100 emergent and established artists and designers including Terence Koh, Caraballo-Farman, Jason Tomme, Efecum Kutuk, Tom Fruin, Josh Owen, Erin Fetherston, as well as designers from Areaware and Kikkerland.
