Sharing a collection of finished and in-progress paintings and drawings, OPEN STUDIO functions as an invitation into an artist’s most sacred space. The open door is a testament to the hospitable nature of Fire Island and the desire to share inherently queer work created in and inspired by a queer idyll. Extending a proverbial olive branch by inviting guests into her working environment, Ambera’s presentation works in tandem with previous themes explored in her practice, tackling intimacy, vulnerability, and power through a fresh pictorial syntax.
