Participating Artists Thomas Barger BOFFO is a not-for-profit organization founded in 2009 that presents innovative, experimental art and free public programs that celebrate the work of artists who identify as LGBTQIA+ and BIPOC artists in New York City and Fire Island Pines. From May to September, BOFFO hosts a summer residency program in the Fire Island Pines in which artists are awarded a three-week stay on island to make, create and relax with their collaborators and friends. Every August, BOFFO produces a large-scale Performance Festival on the beach where participating artists spend time in The Pines rehearsing and showcasing experimental performance practices. With the Fall Benefit Exhibition, BOFFO aims to raise critical funds that will bolster the BOFFO Residency Fire Island, now in its 13th year, and the BOFFO Performance Festival Fire Island, entering its 10th year. Proceeds from the sale will also expand new programming potential. All participating artists are offered up to 50% of the proceeds from the sale of their work. With support from the artists, galleries, private collectors, foundations, museums, and institutions, this fundraising effort allows BOFFO to radically shift the creative landscape of Fire Island and beyond. Truax Art Advisory is a full-service contemporary art consulting and private sales firm in New York founded by art dealer and independent curator Stephen Truax in 2022. Refreshments generously donated by Casa Dragones, Topo Chico, and Monopolio. Press inquires: Sales inquires: BOFFO Information: |
