Join BOFFO in celebrating the conclusion of Acacia Marable's residency with his artist presentation, "Waiting for a Dune," a public artwork. The time it takes to form a sand dune ranges from months to millions of years.

Our reception will take place from 2 – 6pm with music, drinks, and lite bites. Please come prepared for a day at the beach and the unveiling of Acacia Marable’s new work.

Acacia Marable (b. 1988, Seattle) works across drawing, painting, and sculpture, developing ideas through distinct series. Repetition is integral to his process of investigating power and rupture in its many social, political, sexual and emotional forms. He engages nontraditional and found materials, the functions and histories of which become malleable parameters- broadened to the brink of absurdity, reiterated to the point of transformation, or redirected toward unexpected meanings. Marable has held solo presentations at Night Gallery, LA (2026) and Human Resources, LA (2025). His work has been shown in exhibitions at Eric Firestone, NY; Moran Moran, LA; 14’ x 48’ Shandaken Projects, NY; Artist Curated Projects, LA; Carlye Packer, LA and California Museum of Photography, among others. The first book in his ongoing, collaborative drawing-psychoanalysis project, Penis Envy, was published in 2024; the second volume, Foucault’s Perverts, is forthcoming. Marable lives in Los Angeles.
